AlgoBites

Our Story

From Mirchi Bajji (Chilli Fritters) to Byte-Sized Algos

AlgoBites didn't start in a sterile high-frequency trading pit or a sleek venture capital boardroom. It started around a restaurant table, surrounded by steaming plates of Mirchi Bajji (Chilli Fritters), cups of chai, and five longtime friends arguing over market charts.

Like many weekly get-togethers, our conversations naturally drifted toward trading, side projects, and the inevitable question when the check arrived:

“What if we built a lightweight trading bot whose only job was to generate enough passive yield each month to pay for our dinners and snacks?”

It sounded simple. We weren't trying to outsmart Renaissance Technologies or build a billion-dollar hedge fund; we just wanted a clean, automated strategy that could trade clear setups while we were busy with our day jobs.

The Wall Street Barrier

The moment we sat down to build it, we hit a wall.

The tools available to ordinary retail traders were either hopelessly primitive or overwhelmingly complex. On one side were rigid, click-and-pray retail charting platforms. On the other were institutional-grade frameworks that required wrestling with thousands of lines of messy Python scripts, complex asynchronous API connectors, and confusing math models built exclusively for full-time quant engineers.

Why did building a disciplined, rules-based strategy require a computer science degree and a hedge-fund infrastructure? If five tech-savvy friends found the landscape fragmented, intimidating, and unnecessarily painful, everyday traders had virtually no shot.

The Birth of AlgoBites

We realized the real problem wasn't the trading logic itself—it was the packaging. Institutional quants don't reinvent the wheel; they assemble modular blocks of math, risk controls, and signals.

So, we decided to solve our own problem. We stripped away the coding friction and rebuilt quantitative strategy development from the ground up:

  • Modular “Bite-Sized” Logic: Complex algorithmic components broken into intuitive, mix-and-match building blocks.
  • Plain English to Execution: Letting AI translate natural trading theses into rigorous, backtested code.
  • Democratized Access: Institutional-grade risk modeling and automated execution without the institutional price tag.

What began as a weekend experiment to cover our dinner tabs evolved into AlgoBites—a platform dedicated to leveling the playing field so anyone can build, test, and automate their trading edge in bite-sized pieces.

Our Friday dinners are fully covered now. Today, our mission is making sure your strategy is, too.
